KRQX 1590 Mexia has picked up the KLRK call letters formerly used on 92.9, which recently re-branded as "Mix" (KRMX).
M&M Broadcasters has a pending application, filed in May, to move 1590's antenna site closer to Waco and increase their daytime power from 500 to 2,500 watts with an east-west directional pattern. If that application is approved the upgraded KLRK would put a daytime city-grade signal over most of Waco. The nighttime signal (with just 72 watts) wouldn't make it into town, though.
