From what I understand, that simulcast will end soon. Word has it that CC is looking to use the 101.7 signal for a Spanish station. I would not expect 105.1 to flip anytime in the future as they are now the stronger signal for new rock in the market.

101.7 would be good with Spanish, as Shelbyville as a big Hispanic population! Actually 93.1fm is stronger than 105.1

Signal strength is somewhat of a relative term and should really be measured at the receiver rather than the transmitter. Most listeners don't care if you have 100,000 watts or 1,000 watts so long as they can hear you. 93.1 and 105.1 are basically the same in signal strength as they're both full class A's. Signal placement does make a slight difference as one is north and one is south, though.

Correct 93.1 is in Goergetown and 105.1 is Shepardsville. TFX will get the indiana counties that matter as where LRS's signal is MUCH less than perfect on the otherside of the river. 93.1 get's in loud and clear in most areas where it needs to. E-town, Frankfort and places like that don't matter in the ratings. Diary placement will make it intersting. Especially with the bad males samples of late too.

Is the Hispanic population large enough to support two Spanish stations? Eminence's WTSZ-FM 105.7 is also Spanish and basically has the same coverage area as 101.7 FM.

93.1 is in Edwardsville, not Georgetown, on a very short stick with some significant terrain issues. There are places in New Albany where 105.1 comes in better.

I'd say that LRS now has a signal that's at least as good as TFX. (Assuming they drop Shelbyville.) And considering the signal they've been competing against, this is a great present for them.

I was full of crap when I said that.

I just went to the place in New Albany where I know 93.1 sucks. Problem is, LRS sucked even worse.

Oh well. Everyone is full of crap now and then. :)
