In a calendar year, what call sign has been on the most stations? Just this calendar year alone, the call sign WJZJ have been on three different FM stations in Northern Michigan. They had been on 95.5 Glen Arbor until April, when that station swapped call signs with 97.7 Cheboygan (WQEZ went from 97.7 to 95.5). A few weeks later, the WJZJ sign moved to 106.3 Onaway before being dropped to make room for WOEZ. Within the same group of stations, WOEZ has been on three different stations. They started on 94.5 Mackinaw City before moving to 97.7 Cheboygan (when WJZJ moved to 106.3; WYPV moved from 106.3 to 94.5). Recently, WOEZ moved to 106.3 Onaway with 97.7 becoming WCHY. In an addendum, the same group which owns all of the stations involved recently bought a station on 101.5 in Manistee. I would not be surprised if the WJZJ calls end up there within the next few months.
On a somewhat related note, has any station held the same call signs at more than two different times? 97.7 Manistee has had two stints as WMTE-FM (the calls are currently on 101.5 Manistee, which is a sister station, but that station is being divested to meet ownership caps). I would also not be surprised if 97.7 takes back the WMTE-FM calls for the third time if/when 101.5 changes calls.
