True. And even the DJs get tricky.

Best of the 90s: Gorman's comeback--Buzzard Radio: The Next Generation.

Brian & Joe, Lou Santini, Spaceman Scott, Jennifer Wylde, BLF Bash, Sue Tyler, The Boom (till Noon!).

People still remember that era. And it lasted just over 2 years (1994-1996...Gorman left in June '96, though Spaceman, et al. were there into '97).

Space was still there as APD and nights (VT) when I started at WMMS in '99. Before Prophet, us part-timers had to sit there and play CDs and carts, and manually start the voice tracks from the "360 Systems-Instant Replay" unit.
______________

I wondered about that. I stopped listening to WMMS sometime in the summer/fall of 1997. When Space was gone from afternoon drive, WMMS lost me (about the same time, the Neumann era really took hold and the music direction changed).

p.s. Igor, I was at your old SOJ stomping grounds last Saturday. Good news going on there!

I have to not include B&J as "best of" WMMS. Gorman too said that's one decision he would take back.
______________

I never listened to them, so I have no opinion one way or the other (I started listening to Lanigan when I was about 6--and stayed with him until earlier this year). I included B&J as a representation of the great air staff at BR:TNG.

(Didn't they eventually drop "The Next Generation" part and just use "Buzzard Radio"?)

In my programming recitation, I did, however, forget that long-lost sex advice show "Lovephones" with Dr. Judy & Jagger (where's he now--LA? SD? Miami?). 10pm-12mid.

Also, am I missing anyone? Weekenders?

WMJI's staff list then would be fun too. :)

Mike Valentine, who had a voice that could challenge Boom, was weekend AMs.

Jimmy Malone had his "Malone Alone" show on weekend AMs early in the 90s as well--anyone remember the great contest "The Answer is C"?

And how can we forget the immortal "Captain" Ken Morgan (and what about his exactly once filling-in on the morning show!?)

Billy Bass

Jim Shea (primo quality fill-in/weekend guy; now in Milwaukee)

Adria Redman (wasn't she the stat keeper on "Biz to Biz Trivia"?)

Bob Becker (weekend mornings 1992-94)

Mark Nolan (yes, the Channel 3 weather guy was weekender at Majic, under Denny; he was go-to fill-in on Scott's show, before he was Chief Weather Dude at Ch. 3)

How about that news department:

John Webster
Chip Kullick
Carmen Angelo
Anita Quinn

And let's not forget Majic's Satellite Weather...and Shane Hollett (the Canadian!)

Forgot to add that Brian Cooney, mentioned above, was the voice of the last Summer Olympics for NBC. Pretty impressive.

Real nice guy. Voice as you said...but not a solid jock.

Ken was great. Did AMD at WDOK for 10 years before they made a change. Ken was my instructor at the Connecticut School. Five years later we were colleagues. Small world.

Worked with Billy.

Just got blown out about 6 weeks ago. I talked to him right afterward. Can't believe I forgot him! Jim is top notch. Jim also worked at POWER 108 when Cat Thomas (WAPE) was PD. Other stints, AMD at WZJM and PD at WLLD/Columbus.

Jim is major market material.

Cleveland airwaves miss Luther Heggs as well. I like Luther and respect him. With that said I can say that if Luther's rap is kept to a minimum he's as good as any in the market, if not better.

> Adria Redman (wasn't she the stat keeper on "Biz to Biz

Yes, and she did Sunday AM for a few years as well. Forgot about that. Mitch Todd did the "bell keeper" before Adria. When Adria gave it up, Doc and/or I would do it. Adria is a nice person.

Mark is really cool. Solid jock as well. Worked at WKDD before WMJI.

Web is mentioned above. But I did forget those below. Loved working with both Kullick and Carmen. Kullick is really a top notch journalist, regardless of his "commentary" on Lanigan's show. I dj'd Carmen's wedding. We used to work out together at FitWorks in Rocky River.

I didn't work with Anita her first time thru Majic in the late 80's/early 90's. She did come back early 99 just before I transferred over to WMMS.

Oh yeah...Shane...lol!

Here's another we forgot about - Vicky Sue Wilson

And of course...Max Heywood.

So silly of me. I hastily made the original list. I should've been more careful and I would've named those I missed the first time around. My apologies to those peeps.
______________

Mark got his start out of Kent State at our place as our evening guy when we were Kool 92 back in the early - mid '90's.
