Callahan Insults Co-Worker On Air

W

Guest
Well, Mr. Ignorant does it again. This morning, during the banter at the beginning of the show, D & C were ripping Meter for being out on Friday. Callahan then says, "you should have called early enough so we could've gotten a REAL flash guy" John Ryder filled in on Friday. Ahhh, such class he has.

OH MY GOSH! A morning show guy ripping a co-worker on-air!!!! That is just wrong and hurtful. When will it end. The world would be so much better if it was only love and bunnies on-air. These meanies have to ruin it for the rest of us.And how come there's no good christian rock stations in Boston? Heck!

Could D&C be turning things up to keep the listeners that Roth lost? Will O&A bring D&C down? We'll tell you next, on "As Boston Radio churns."

Callahan has gotten redundant. Last time he got real ink it was the Metco scandal. Like Depetro these personalities need to do bad things to get any attention at all. Not that the competition, such as it is - O & A - have any class whatsoever, it just clarifies how bad radio is in 2006. Makes ya long for the days of real Top 40 - as difficult as it was to listen to, it certainly wasn't as boring and tired as all this nonsense. The dividends are that Freebird and Louie Louie still get spins today. Callahan's foot-in-mouth won't be getting re-runs anytime soon. Airchecks anyone? Don't bother...

I don't like D&C and don't listen to them anymore, but I wonder perhaps he was flaming Meter and it came out wrong or something like that.I don't know why he would want to insult John Ryder.

... because some people like manufactured 'controversy' much like they have the good cop/bad cop thing, such as Mustard and Johnson. Do you believe for one second that Mustard is a Yankees fan? He adopts that role to be a villain... I haven't listened to D&C for over a year... I got tired of Callahan's homophobia, for one thing...

My guess is, he was joking with John Ryder. You see sometimes people use a thing called sarcasim, its pretty cool, and can be a lot of fun for the people who understand it

"Every radio has at least two knobs...one turns it off...the other one....CHANGES THE STATION" - George CarlinYou have nothing positive to add. Ever. If you think it is so bad. You can always walk away. But you never do.Callahan bad mouthed a co-worker. It's schtick. Pro wrestling silliness. It happens on thousands of stations across America every day.And every day...people tune in to hear it.Show Business.

Positive things

Paul, I've made many positive comments about Oldies 103.3 (a former WBCN disc jockey and friend of yours attacked "Orleans" who performed so well at an Oldies 103.3 concert), I'm thrilled with Ed Schultz and RandiRhoades, WBUR is wonderful, I love much college radio that I listen to - it is clear to me you are attracted only to the negative posts. You may want to ask Dr. Melfi why this is.

Dont bring me into it again, Orleans is a joke a one hit wonder from the 70's and just a bad band on top of it. YOU only champion your enablers, in other words those who actually will talk to you thus enabling your megalomania.

" thus enabling your megalomania." Duh, Megalomania was born on June 13th.My birthday was last month; you weren't invited to the party.Orleans is still a fantastic musical group that is playing the Esplanade in a few weeks. There was a timewhen a disc jockey would know the bands, the songwriters, the producers. Now they can't put a coherent sentence together. Go figure. And when you point out they are political hires they get oh so defensive and follow your every word as Chapter & Verse as they shadow you on the internet. Great. If only Christian Bale would stalk me...nope, I get...Nik Carter - and not even the cute Nik Carter. Thanks, Oedi, this is YOUR doing. Oedi finally got his revenge - he puts his little attack mutt on me.Am I supposed to be honored by this stupidity? Nik - please - do us a favor and try to graduate third grade before you put your foot in mouth again.

Hmmmmmmm you know with all of your tooting of your own horn with all of your supposed achievements I dont ever recall your discussing your own education. Did you even go to college Joe?........obviously not, if you had we would have heard all about how whatever obscure state school you attended was just as legitimate as Harvard. Or did you leap straight into the world of cable access and working at college radio stations where any member of the "community" could be on air like WMFO?. Joe I really must insist that you stop speaking........ at least until you're hired by someone who is a paying employer, not a little cable access shack in Medford where anyone who asks is given a show.. By tthe way Shadowing you on the internet? you really are a [EDIT], Ive already told you, stop bringing me into conversations that dont have anything to do with me (as you did in this thread in responding to Neanderpaul by mentioning me and Orleans), and I dont need to respond. Again Joe you cant take it.... so stop dishing it out.... but dont whine like a baby when you're called n your BS.[EDIT*=name calling]

Yes, we noticed with your "I Challenge The Count" post how you don't shadow anyone. How you are the victim.GO in and record, Nik. We'd love to hear you "sing". HA HA HA

Mmm Lorraine Bracco reference. At least it's topical. I stand corrected. My apologies.

No joe I never play the victim card unlike yoruself, "Oedipus ruined me, he blacklisted me, now the world will never know my genius".........My god how you make me laugh!....... I dont whine. Also unlike yourself I know Im not a singer.....................BUt then again neither are you, if you were any good you would'nt have to blog about how great you were now woud you?. However since you looked at the thread, I see you havent acted upon it,...the challange is stiull there whether it can be responded to or not......so post away Mozart, unless you dont have confidence in your "life's work" and why would you? it was just bad. ::)

Actually, a two-hit wonder:October 1976: "Still The One" - Billboard #5October 1975: "Dance With Me" - Billboard #6I was never a big fan myself, but those two tunes are still played often on Oldies stations (WODS), Classic Hits stations (WROR), and occasionally AC stations (WMJX, etc...), so they must've done something right...

do Orleans still release albums? 30 years is a long time between hits. Who plays those songs today (to keep it to radio)?

Their two hits, "Still The One" and "Dance With Me", are still played often on Oldies stations (WODS), Classic Hits stations (WROR), and occasionally soft AC stations (WMJX, etc...).Definitely too "light" for my tastes, and I like old folkie-rock, but more the old hippie stuff, not the slick pop.
