Local Boy Needs Help!

I need to lease a radio station in a small market. Location is not important, at this point in time. Budget, up to: $5,000 per month. Any leads are appreciated!! Please email: artistbot at yahoo dot com

I also need to record a rehearsal broadcast for multiple genres so it doesn't sound like a train wreck. Please help if you can and what you would charge?

Kind Regards,

H82BL8

I hope you all didn't think I was joking around when requesting your assistance? San Diego in known for taking care of their own. Is there really nobody out there with some connections? What about south of the border?

P.S. I heard Cantori went all digital, do you think he might want to help a NOOB with a demo project?

You are not going to rent a station for $5 thousand... the cost to the owner of rust powering the transmitter, land leasees, etc. is gong to be more than that.

Disagree, I think its possible to rent an AM in a small market for 5,000 dollars.

Heck, I know of one for SALE for less than 150,000!

We are of course talking very small market, daytimer, etc.

I agree as to small markets... I thought the poster spoke of San Diego and "south of the border" he meant only the local area.

To LMA, generally the renter takes care of all expenses except those that would indicate a positive change of control of the licences, so the owner may continure to pay transmitter expenses, will have someone to oversee the licence operationally, etc.

I should be able to find a small market under $5K. South of the border near San Diego is still in a major market. I have a reference document detailing a SoB lease that went for $75K per month.

But...it would be nice to be broadcasting to a reasonable population instead of praire dogs and ground hogs. lol

FM may be out of the question but I hope not. An AM with a good signal will be fine for starters, even a daytimer. Geez, everybody has to start somewhere! Even Van Halen started playing at Gazzarri's.

Why not do internet radio?
Just download Jetcast and be done with it.
Seems to me, its easier than begging on the San Diego board.

Garrett,

That's a really good idea, (slapping myself) why didn't I think of that? And such an original idea too! Got any more pearls of wisdom? Please impress me with your creativity. Zzzzz!

I know of a couple of stations that are 1 KW AM's that might be able to be leased for 5,000.00 a month or the one is pretty much for sale, because the owners don't really want to deal with it anymore. It is AM 1400 KEBE, talk to a guy named Bill Waller 903-663-1057. The station is in a town of about 20,000 people, and the tower is almost brand new, and the transmitter is fairly modern (solid state Harris SX-1). Bill is a good guy and probably wants to sell it. The station is 1KW day and night time.
