Cami McCormick

Cami McCormick was injured today in Afghanistan by an IED. The soldier with her was killed. She is a reporter for CBS Radio. Prayers to her and the soldiers family.

Yeah, it's just too bad that people only get to hear the name of the big celebrity news woman. I wonder what the name of the soldier was. No one seems to be reporting that. Ahh but he was just one soldier, right? Not nearly as 'important' as Cami. ::)

I totally get your point Lantern, but that soldier's name hasn't been released yet- or at my last check.

Yeah, but see here's the problem with that. Having literally worked in the field responsible for dealing with the media while in the military, I know for a fact that the soldier's name will be withheld until his family is notified.

Now then, what ground-pounding soldier do you know who wouldn't write or call home to tell mom "hey, I'm driving around Cami McCormick tomorrow! Isn't that cool?"

So by releasing her details and saying the soldier with her was killed.....it kinda spills the beans. It sort of goes around the notification policy. You don't know his name from the story, but if his family reads that the soldier with Cami was killed, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to put together that it was their son.
