Camping sells NY FM. WCTF Next???

Jumping on a topic (sort of) by Willie, the engineer at WIHS that "the heretic Camping" is selling Family Radio's WFME (94.7) to a commercial broadcaster, would Camping also sell lesser stations such as WCTF in Vernon and if he did, what would be the format of said station? Is there anything that can be done with a 1000 watt daytimer? The floor is open, PD's of radio-Info.com!!!

According to Wikipedia's story on WCTF, the station is currently listed as "Off the Air". Transmitter problems or the end of the Camping reign??

WHOA! Talk about jumping to conclusions, why not say: US takes over Iran and makes it 51st state, is Pakistan next?

WFME is NOT been sold. It is NOT for sale (yet). What did happen is that Family Radio applied to the FCC for a change of license status from non-commercial to commercial. This is thought of as a precursor to a sale, as it's the first thing they did in Washington and Philadelphia before putting their stations there on the market.

This means that it's likely that WFME will be placed on the market sometime this year. But nothing has been sold. And it's waaaaay premature to say so, let alone speculate about 'what's next'.

It's not like Family Radio is going to switch up its format and start airing commercials. So while WFME hasn't been sold yet, let's proceed as if it will be... isn't that what these boards are all about? ::)

Maybe they could air commercials. Lots of people will want to spend their life savings before the world ends.

WCTF will be one of the last stations Family Radio gets rid of. Donations are down, probably due to all the 'end of the world' nonsense, and they are shedding the major market stations because they need the cash. How much would WCTF bring in? Not a heck of a lot...and who would buy it? ANOTHER Hispanic broadcaster? The LAST thing the area needs is ANOTHER Spanish AM, and a daytimer no less. My guess is that Family will continue to run their programming on WCTF until the bitter end...at which point they shut if off and the licence get turned into the FCC...
