Can anyone tell me about these people and how listeners like them

I am wanting to know how the following people were liked by listeners on the air and please try not to give your personal views just facts. I know some of you might not have personally liked the following but I want to know how you think these people were on the air!? Did they cause any stir with listeners, artist, music row, what you liked and maybe saw as a problem? Did they connect and love the listener? How was their Ego? Maybe some of you guys and girls who have lived in Nashville a bit can help me!? Thanks! Did you work with any of them? How were they to work with?

Cathy Martindale - WSM
Rich Miller - WSM
Carl P - SIX AND KDF
Dallas - wsix
Taylor Morgan - WSM
Shannon- KDF

Cathy Martindale: HUGE ego! Definitely hung with the "in crowd" back in the 80's. Very well accepted by the industry, but perhaps a bit too old for today's Nashville scene.
Rich Miller: Likeable, believable. Super nice but forgettable.
Carl P: Egomaniac! B-O-R- I- N- G.... Too narcistic for today's listeners, couldn't hold their attention.
Dallas: Loved her on the air, never met her. Intersting. She was awesome! Don't know why she left.
Taylor Morgan: Loved her, she was funny to listen to! Never knew what artist was going to be on the air with her. Seemed to have the "inside scoop" on artists. She took Cathy Martindales slot.
Shannon: Very professional! Very relaxed on the air, effortless..... but not really interesting.

Cathey Martindale- sounded professional on 95 was a good fit with Coyote on 96 and 97
Rich Miller- very good on evenings at 95 somehow did not fit just right on afternoons
Carl P.- had a great following on 103 in the eighties had a good show back then, for the most of the ninety's on 98 had a good show however at some point while at 98 it seems he quit trying. He moved back to 103 with a new burst of energy when reunited with the duke, but that soon burned out. after 9/11 while he was still on 103 he started sounding old and worn out this was a huge dissapointment as I grew up listening to the P team
Dallas- a soliid talent I think she left 98 when her Nashville Nights show was syndicated don't know what happened after that
Taylor Morgan- more hype than talent probably got over because of her looks
Shannon- great

Many may dissagree these are just opinions

I met Carl P years ago and he had an ego bigger than Mars. The only other one I have heard is Cathy Martindale and she was great on her short-lived morning show on WRQQ.

I think all you list were good on the air and did connect with the listeners. Lets face it all of us have an ego. We love it but the ones that keep it in check are the ones that are good to be around. Having said that Shannon and Rich keep it in check. Cathy can and does most of the time. Dont know much about Dallas. Now Carl and Taylor. Both were not fun to be around and both thought...oh hold on I'm giving my personal views...If I were building a station and wanted a good team that got along with each and didn't let the ego get out of hand I wouldnt hire two from this list.
Kind of a strange list you put together.

First time I heard Taylor Morgan, she was doing a 'trucker spot" on WSM. A natural, if I ever heard one. The best of females in your list, she comes across as young enough, hilarious but not dizzy.

She's got that 'special irreverence' that appeals to everyone. Don't agree with the ego thing (on an earlier post). Truth is, she's not a raving beauty ... but enough so that she's probably has all the 'pretty girl' problems with guys and some women. Most of the others you mentioned seem kinda tired, wore down a little.

You know that if everyone likes you all the time ..... means you're boring. All of us in radio know that

Hope this helps .. Radioman Gibb Sunn

I was thinking that someone is trying to start a little "buzz" about someone. Kind of reminds me of a jock that had a web site for all of her "fans". When the site got full of "self love" she pulled back and said she didn't have anything to do with it. She said a "fan" put it together for her. Funny thing was it had a bunch of personal photos that only she could provide. It got real nasty and she got fired by the new P.D because she couldn't take any direction.
IF a P.D is doing a little cheap research check out the Tri-Citys page and do a search for her name. Nice read.

Cathy Martindale - WSM
LISTENED: Loved her on "Nashville 95". To me, she is one of the few female radio personalities in Nashville to really "stick". When 'SM got rid of her, I have to look back and say that everything seems to have gone downhill from there...

Rich Miller - WSM
LISTENED: Forgettable. Too similar to other (forgettable) talent that was on the station at the time.

Carl P - SIX AND KDF
LISTENED: I thought his 'SIX days and "Country's Most Wanted" was incredible. People talk about how "P-Nuts Auto Parts", etc. was tired...but it ALWAYS made me laugh. If he was doing better work before that, well then God bless him. For me, I think his move to mornings at 'KDF (a TIMELESS moment in radio history...April 1, 1999, I do believe) caused him to get distracted creatively. I think he permanantly branded that station (Waylon & Willie, etc.) at the expense of his own career.
WORKED: Not closely, but in the same department. Everyone here has heard the stories. I can't say that I ever witnessed any of them, but...let's just say that walking to the other side of the hall when he passed WAS encouraged...

Dallas - wsix
LISTENED: ridiculously nasal voice...in retrospect, don't think she was that great but i'd hold her up against anyone that's on at night in Nashville right now...
WORKED: Meh.

Taylor Morgan - WSM
NOT FAMILIAR

Shannon- KDF
LISTENED: Doesn't seem to have ever caught on well in this market. She's kindof the "anti-"Jock...which SHOULD be a good, thing...but...we all know how that goes.
WORKED: A consummate professional and one of the most genuine, pleasant, and humble radio people I've ever had the pleasure to work with.

Why worry, a bunch of damn has been's! I'm gald they shut Coyote & Martindale up and Jack took over. Jack was #2 in this market in the last book. Personallity radio causes ego trips with people and when you meet them in person, they got thier damn nose stuck up in the air! That's why I like AUTOMATED RADIO!

All right Romer, you'll have something smart to say about this, so make your comment. Yes for a minute, I back here on the rattle/tattle board because I'm board!
