Can I throw in a little somewhat OT trivia for today for fun?

OK, Elvis passed away on this day in 1977. August 16, 1969 was day 2 of the Woodstock festival. We all know that.

Rock'n'Roll history: August 16, 1969 - again! Trivia for those who *really* know their oldies. I know there's several DJ's on this board. Here's part of the lyrics:

" ... it's ten pm in Wichita Falls
August sixteen, nineteen-sixty-nine and I'm in some bar ... "

No prize to give, LOL. Clue, this American duo was a one hit wonder, had a huge hit about possible doom and gloom in the summer of 1969, and the lyrics posted above are from their follow-up 45 (and album cut, a slightly different take). If the subject of that song was at Woodstock instead, toking on a doobie, instead of hanging around in a bar, he wouldn't have gotten in so much trouble, LOL. A beautiful instrumental till the lyrics are added, and great lyrics like "She was lovlier than oil rights"! The tune only "Bubbled Under" on Billboard, but it did manage to get into the 40-something range on WIXY-1260 charts in 1969. It was spun a few times. Most stations didn't dare touch the record. A sensitive subject matter to this day and a gory ending. Title and artist please.
