Can it get any worse for Q

Ratings in the toilet, skeleton crew, idiots running the joint and I heard nothing but problems all weekend. This morning has been a disaster with dead air and the signal cutting in and out. Is there an engineer over there?

I've been noticing on the weekend their on-air signal sounds like an internet stream. That's just bad! What's even worse...102.5 sounds better than them sometimes, and their signal isn't the best either!

Hey at least Q has a morning team ... Wilks could always throw a syndicated show on air like down the hall at K95.5.

I am not sure how they got the signals from 2nd Nationwide to the tower sites before moving locations end of August.. however now it appears from the STL tower mounted on top of 2400 Corporate Exchange Dr they are sending the audio via either an RF IP Link of some sorts or RF Audio link to the transmitter sites.

After reading this yesterday I thought that surely you guys were exaggerating about the audio quality. After all, this is
QFM96 you're talking about. (Yes, I've read all the wilks posts but this is a heritage flame thrower in a decent sized city)

So I tuned in last night between 7 and 8 PM to hear nothing but pops, chirps and massive amounts of dead air.
It was well beyond the tolerance level of the average listener. These audio issues continued through a very long stopset.
If I were AEP or any of the other advertisers in that stopset, I would be demanding makegoods.

To quote the old song- "how long has this been going on?"

From what I've learned today-

The link to Channel 10 is an unlicenced 5-6 GHz IP link.
There is currently no link to the backup site at WTVN's Obetz tower site.
And apparently their engineer has been let go.

Lets hope they keep the morning team. Some of us thought Wilks would throw in a syndicated show
on the Q after they purchased the station a few years ago. Some say the morning team is what
made the Q the major station it is/was in Columbus over the last two decades or so. So, a syndicated show on the Q would not be good news for all the Q listeners.

It's been a great ride with Pat and Wags and Wags and Elliot. I would hate for Q to turn to syndication.

Well if any indication with the direction Wilks has taken the Columbus cluster I would not rule out a syndicated show at some point on Q ... Not saying I want to see that happen but the writing is on the wall.

I grew up listening to QFM, from the time they first aired up to about the late 80s. By then I thought they had grown stale and gave up on them. The few times I listened to them since, I was surprised it was the same music and format.
The morning show with Daddy Wags was probably the only piece holding them together.
I say bring in Bob and Tom for the morning show. I'm sure we'd all like to see local talent thrive but I just happen to be a big fan of B&T and I think they have a fairly large following.

Bob and Tom in Columbus has been tried THREE times on the Columbus dial, on the then-105.7 The Fox, 103.9 TED FM, and most recently 99.7 The Rock/Blitz, and it hasn't worked. In Dayton, they've thrived on WING-FM before they switched formats from 1995-2001, and then on WTUE from 2001-present. Q-FM COULD be a good fit for them, but seeing they've failed three times on the Columbus airwaves, it doesn't seem likely.
