Can Las Vegas have move FM stations?

Can Las Vegas have more FM stations on the dial?94.797.9101.1Would it be possilbe to move 94.1 to 93.9? 98.5 to 98.7? 99.3 to 99.5? 100.5 to 100.3? 105.7 to 105.9? 106.5 to 106.7?
 
Funny you mentioned this, because I was just thinking the same thing myself!I think it would actually be easier than it sounds. The radio dial in the surrounding areas is so wide open that most of the existing LV stations could probably move with ease, there would be a few problems with moving a couple of the stations though. 94.1 could move to 93.9, but if i'm not mistaken, there's a 93.9 in Parker, AZ. They might cause a problem, but I don't know off the top of my head how far Parker would be from Vegas, so it might not be a problem. A move to 93.9 from 94.1 would seem to open up a new frequency on 94.7, however you can't forget about KFLG in Kingman, AZ. KFLG could probably move to 94.9 or even 95.1 to accomodate a new 94.7 in Las Vegas.-97.9 would work if KLUC moved to 98.7-If KLUC moved to 98.7, the 98.9 translator could move to 99.1-KHYZ 99.7 could move to 99.9. They'd be awfully close to the 99.9 in St. George, but I think it could be done. -KOAS could move to 105.9 but the Part 15 in BC would be displaced, but they could move to 106.3 instead. KSNE could move to 106.7. This has definitely opened a can of worms! The LV stations moving to the 92.3, 93.1, 93.9, etc. spacings like in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Detroit could definitely happen. In most cases, the next adjacent stations on these frequencies are IN Los Angeles!
 
It does take a formal FCC rulemaking for stations to move.At this time the only possible move I recall is 106.5 to 106.7. This opens up a frequency somewhere in the direction of Mesquite. If you seach the FCC website you will find out more.The Utah stations are not much of a factor. The main factor is that to be in the same town you have to be 3 channels away from existing stations on each side. The Mesique station fits because its transmitter is so far away.
 
Are any more FMs in LV financially viable? Or would this just lead to time brokered junk on the FM band?
 
When making changes to the FM table of allotments (Section 73.202(b), translators (and LPFMs) are irrelevant. They are a secondary service.Moving 94.1 to 93.9 was tried several years ago and did not go through. Wholesale changes like you are proposing are difficult, although not impossible to implement.LF
