Can Someone Clarify an "Hiring Etiquette" story?

Hey guys,
What I'm about to write may sound very, very confusing...but I got this from someone close to radio.
Has anyone ever heard of a radio station announcing that someone is going to host a local show on their station without calling that person first to see if they would like to work there?

Apparently, that just happened at KTIB. I won't say the person's name because they are apparently very upset this happened....but this past Monday when KTIB announced their new programming lineup, they announced that a certain person was going to host an afternoon sports show...and that person what never-ever contacted to see if they wanted to do a show!

Now call me crazy because I know many of you have written topics about people who got fired either wrongly or under strange conditions...but this "hiring" story to me really takes the cake.

Any replies then please let me know....this just seems totally unprofessional to do such a thing to somebody.

when you hire the former gm who was there when the station went off the air, and bring that person back to be the new gm with the new company, my dear...what else can you expect?
