Can Terrestrial Radio Thrive in the Digital Era?

I don't know. It does look bleak.

It's not going away any time soon but it does look bleak. I'm sure others will chime up about us drawing such a bleak picture. It's just a matter of time.

Yes it can thrive ,if the people running it today want it to.

As said by many ,if the carp ever hits the fan in the form of a major emergency ,phone circuits ,cell phones ,Smartphones ,the Internet . . . will be down.

The only easy source many people will be able to turn to for emergency information will be that "cheap " radio that runs on batteries . . . I just hope there are responsible radio stations still left that will tell the people what is going on when that happens.

The lost of the Internet or it becoming more or less useless in many areas in an emergency will come as a surprise to the new high tech people out there that look at terrestrial radio as old fashion.
