Can we combine the new logging threads?

If you're getting 5 different stations in a day, why not just list them all on the same post instead of creating a new one for each station?

Same thing goes for e-skip in the summer, one thread per opening is enough.

Dittos...

As much as I can relate to the excitement of logging a new station, I have to agree with the rest of you guys. Just start a 'New Loggings' thread, post your new catches on the thread and only that thread. And other people could even come in and report theirs.

A new loggings thread would probably stay at the top of the page at all times and would get more views than five different threads about five different stations.

Yep, just take a look at the one pertaining to KNX being received (initially) near Tampa. It has gone on for months. That's the most efficient way.

Excellent idea. I was thinking of New Loggings 1/25/2010 but a simple New Loggings really cuts to the chase. Maybe even three of them...New FM Loggings, New AM Loggings & New TV Loggings?

I think that's a good idea BobOnTheJob: How about limiting it to one month at a time (so it doesn't get too drawn out) like: New FM Loggings-Jan.'10, New AM Loggings-Jan.'10 & New TV Loggings-Jan.'10?

One a month may work well for AM, most FM tropo, and TV. But there are some instances that affect a wide area for a short period of time, like a big tropo duct or e-skip opening. Still, we don't need a whole page of posts about new loggings every time an e-skip cloud moves across the country.

Nick, I totally agree with your idea about combining threads.

I seldom start new threads because there's almost always one there I can add what I have to say to.

I'll start a new thread if I get a long distance personal record setting catch with video but that's about it unless I have an unusual observation or question.

OK, thanks.

Next time, I'll put all the new loggings of the night on one thread, like "New Loggings 1/25/2010", etc. I'm having five new threads a nights because of five new loggings.

I like the idea of a thread that covers new AM loggings, new FM loggings, etc. that can go on for a month or more. It'll de-clutter the board.

Maybe it would be better to post them on the to be named later log thread.

C'bebo,
Maybe you might want to set up a continuing thread for your catches. I like your enthusiasm, and I'm interested in reading about what you are hearing, but it would be easier just opening one thead and viewing all your posts.
