Can you pick up 97.5 FM?

Maybe they should hire the Verizon guy... "Can you hear me now? Good." ;)

That is a "rim-shot" station. The transmitter is located south of Winnie, TX off Hwy 124, 60 miles east of downtown Houston and 25 miles west of Beaumont. This is a Houston wanna-be station just like the other rim shots on the Devers tower between Beaumont and Liberty off hwy 90. 93.3, 97.5, 98.5 and 107.9 belong back in Beaumont on their original towers. As far as 103.7, they belong back in Lake Charles, LA. All of the frequencies that I mentioned above are NOT listenable in an office building west of downtown Houston. RIM SHOTS don't work and never will in my opinon. Just a waste of money and frustration. ::)

Couple of notes here: 103.7 was moved in from Conroe-Willis, not Lake Charles. True, a Lake Charles station was affected by the move. 100.7 KKHT is a rimshot as well. It's also on the Devers tower as the afforementioned frequencies. It's successful because it is serving a a loyal audience with Christian talk programming. The others might do better by serving the area it actually covers or target a specific audience.
I've stated this before, if 97.5 was mine, I would make it a Galveston County radio station. Maybe it would work, maybe not, but I would try it. It will not make it as a sports station.

About 30% of the time I can pick them up, KIOL about 50%. I'm around 120 or so miles away also though.

I get 97.5 a lot better than 103.7, and I live in Copperfield.

Opposite for me in south Katy. I can get KIOL in HD with my Accurian sitting on the kitchen counter with a $7 pair of rabbit ears connected to it. KFNC has a listenable signal with lots of hiss.

I am sitting in my office in Greenway Plaza and cannot hear it at all! Don't understand why we have to go to that station to get ESPN???

While in the office I listen to the stream at 975theticket.com. I live in the northwest part of town and I pick up 97.5 much better than either 610 or the hard to listen to 790 on the way in and on the way home.
The Animal needs to make the change to ESPN Desportes and fast. That payroll is too heavy for the revenue they probably bring in.

Make that the Devers TOWERS...there are three 2000ft towers east of Devers now...KIOL's is furthest south, Liberman's is next (the newest) just south of Hwy 90 with 98.5 / 107.9 and the original CC tower north of 90 (and a PITA to get to) which has Class Cs 93.3 (Univision), 100.7 (Salem) and the (lower@500ft and power) local 99.9 KSHN Liberty.

BTW all the Class C "rimshots" still put a city grade signal across Beaumont-Port Arthur (whichever is their COL :)

97.5 comes in loud and clear on a boom box in The galleria area with the stereo turned off at the transmitter. No problem with the GE Superadio either. Seems fine in the SUV also. Still notice that they do get some interference from time to time. Also hit some pockets driving where they drop out some.
