Can you say KLIF a thousand times?

So I'm listening to KLIF as I usually do in the mornings. In a typical 30 minute block I was curious to see how many times I heard:

KLIF
570 KLIF
Stimulating Talk 570 KLIF
(or any variation thereof)

I stopped counting at 50. Goes before every caller, after every news story, every weather report, every traffic report, etc.

I know the FCC cares about callsigns but I really don't need to hear it after it seems, every sentence. If I want to know where I'm listening on the dial I just look at the frequency on the radio. They have good programming, I'm not bashing them - but give me a break as an ADL. Reminds me of that girl in Office Space saying "Corporate Accounts Payable, Nina speaking - JUST a moment..." over & over.

Is it just a crutch or are all of those id's really necessary? Other stations do it also but seems like KLIF really goes extreme.

First, all hail the greatness of Office Space. For that, and "somebody's got a case of MUNdays." FYI - I had a neighbor in the Village JUST like that dude. Greatness. He smelled so uh, interesting, I ordered take out every time he left my place.

Second, the reiteration of the handles is not a crutch. It's "supposed to be" marketing. Repetition creates recognition, or as the CONsultant adage goes. Regretfully, the only reason we recognize that and "the NEW blah blah station" is to hate it and get the chills every time that drivel comes on the radio.

Ah, love that reverse psychology.

As bad as it may sound on KLIF now days, I still remember when Tommy Kramer took over as PD in 1997 and they called it "570 KLIF". I seem to remember Kevin McCarthy poking fun of the new changes on the air one morning. He was moved to afternoons shortly after that. David Gold was out and Humble Billy took Kevin's place in the mornings. A lot of people say that was the beginning of the end for KLIF.

And the end of the end for KLIF was...Aunt Carlos? ;D

Nothing was worse than "Big 570". I mean, who came up with that one?

I like Jeff Bolton a lot better than Ankarlo. Seemed like Ankarlo had this "better than you" attitude or something. I can't pin it down but I just didn't care for his show. Plus I can actually spell Bolton.

Now if I can only figure out:
Ron De Rockster or Rhonda Rockster (likely 1st choice since it's a guy)
Teresa Rena or Terese Arena
