"Canada Calling" on hold

"Canada Calling" is a radio program geared towards Canadian snowbirds who winter in the US Sunbelt (primarily Florida). Hosted by Prior Smith, the program was supposed to start today (November 2, 2020).

Here is Prior's response via email:

"Today marks the first time in 66 years 'Canada Calling' is not going to air for the winter season across the U.S. Sunbelt and beyond as planned. Canada-U.S. land border crossings are closed to all but essential traffic. While there is limited air travel the winter tourist season is all but on hold. Given the pandemic we’re taking a wait and see approach over the next month or two."

"Canada Calling" returns January 3, 2020.

The program normally starts the first week of November annually so I checked the mp3 audio file at the "Canada Calling" website today only to find out it won't start until January 3, 2022. I emailed Prior Smith, host of the program, and received the following response:

"Normally we start up the first week of November. Given the fact land border crossings won't be open until November 8th and many are holding off travel until after Christmas we decided to start up January 3rd."
