Canadian AM That Plays/Played OTR...?

Hello everyone. (If I'm in the wrong section, please excuse me.)

A few months ago, I remember scanning the AM band, and coming across a station from Canada that was playing old time radio shows from the 40s and 50s. It obviously was at night, but it was quite a strong signal.

But, I forget the calls and frequency.

Has anyone else ever picked a station up that fits that criteria? If so, could someone tell me what it was? (The only thing I remember was that it was a station from Canada.)

Any help would be appreciated. :)

Thanks,
-Kris (Cape May County, New Jersey)

Nope, not CHWO. They air music overnight.

What you likely heard was CHML 900, Hamilton, Ontario. They broadcast old radio shows overnight... a lot of fun to listen to!

They have a very odd signal pattern to protect various stations to the east and west, but that leaves them with HUGE lobes to the south-southeast and southeast (and northwest, too, but that lobe entertains mostly moose and elk). Despite the deep nulls, they get out quite well in all directions due to the smaller lobes. I can pick them up nightly here in Michigan, and I'm supposed to be in a rather deep null!

Take a look, through this list:

Thanks everyone for their help. CHML 900 ended up being the station I was looking for. (I was trying to tell someone about it and couldn't for the life of me remember. All I knew was that it was an "even" number like 900. :)

And thanks for the list of 50,000 Watter's. That's a neat little listing. :)
