Anymore??????

Not entirely..

I could correct that with:

MTV Canada = MTV

Muchmusic still shows videos a go0d portion of the day. Although it is very close to becoming all reality shows...there are still videos on during the daytime and overnights.

MuchMusic is forced to air music videos by the CRTC. They have publicly said they haven't ruled out applying to the CRTC to change the related conditions of license.

Bravo Canada has NOTHING to do with Bravo USA.

Bravo Canada has pretty much stayed with their original mission of showing true arts programming, while NBC Universal has junked up their "Bravo" channel (same logo) with reality TV shows and paid programming for colon blow.

Colon Blow. One of my fave SNL commercials. Don't forget that CBC is closer to the BBC than PBS. How about the OTA commercial Canadian netowrks, CTV and Global?

Other than the fact that CBC Television has commercials, while the BBC doesn't.

ITV -- with few exceptions, CTV and Global are now both single networks with some regional variations, like ITV.

Much Music is more equivant to MTV in the US. Much Music existed before MTV Canada came in. Plus MTV Canada cannot show music video because of the CTRC requirements. Before MTV Canada that channel used to be Talk TV! similar to E! in the US.

Also here are the Canadian broadcast networks similar to US networks.

CTV = CBS
Global = NBC
Citytv = FOX
A = CW
SUN TV in Ontario = ION, RTV & This TV
Knowledge, Access Alberta (parts), SCN,TV Ontaio TFO, Tele Quebec = PBS
CBC = Crossover between BBC UK, ABC

Hmmmm...

CTV = CBS <========
Global = NBC <========
Citytv = FOX <======== I'd say those 3 fight to air shows from any one of those networks...and City recently aired programs from ABC such as the tenth anniversary of who wants to be a millionaire.

SUN TV in Ontario = ION, RTV & This TV <==== Not true.

Sun tv? SUN tv airs 60 minutes and Jimmy Kimmel live with more changes to come... (JK until this fall was airing on City tv in Canada)

Knowledge, Access Alberta (parts), SCN,TV Ontaio TFO, Tele Quebec = PBS

CBC = Crossover between BBC UK, ABC <=== at one point they intended to go 100% Canadian programming, but that never happend.

Funny you mention ABC...In the States the show is called "Shark Tank" but in Canada, there is a Canadian version on CBC called "Dragon's Den" with very little or no difference in the concept. Not sure who copied who...

CBC Commercial airtime is much less than US commercial airtime. I think it has to do with the CRTC rules. Also other public tv around the world airs commercial such as TVNZ 1 & 2 in New Zealand. France 2,3, & 5 in France. RTE 1 & 2 in Ireland. RAI in Italy. TSR,TSI,DFS in Switzerland etc.

I've never notice that the CBC airs commercials. The times I watch the CBC from my cousin house in Michigan. I thought those were underwriting spots.
