Cancellation Predictions

Some shows I predict will be pulled from the line-up before the snow falls

1. Journeyman: A poor imitation of Quantum Leap

2. The Bionic Woman: Another poor imitation of the original 1970s series. At least Katie Sackoff of Battlestar Galactica has found a job after BSG goes off the air next year. What’s next the 60 Million Dollar man staring Simon Cowell?

3. Caveman: Make a series out of a commercial. Who ever came up with this idea should be banned from working in television for the next ten years. They would have better luck teaming up the Geko with the guy who played Crocodile Dundee in the movies.

The network brass just doesn’t get it. A few seasons ago CBS tried remaking The Fugitive with Tim Daly. That lasted what, a few episodes?

Apparently originality is not in the vocabulary in Hollywood these days.

CBS's Fugitive remake lasted two seasons, if memory serves.

Checking on that, it lasted one season, 22 episodes.

I predict that "Life" on NBC doesn't have much life. I couldn't get into it at all and only made it through the first 30 minutes.

Well, so far "Nashville" has been pulled from the Fox TV lineup, next will probably
be "K-Ville", followed by "Don't Forget The Lyrics!".
As for the other shows on network television, CBS should have reconsidered doing
"Kid Nation", it expolits children; On ABC, after seeing a clip of "Cavemen" i agree
this won't last; On NBC, if any of their fall offerings are on the air by the end of the
November sweeps, this will surprise myself.
I don't watch the CW or My Network TV, i think both of them will fold soon.

Yes it did. I've yet to watch it (it's on my TiVo) but unless it loses viewers dramatically week after week, it'll probably be a keeper this season.

And if memory serves me correctly ABC's Commander -in- Chief got a higher rating, but that show didn't last one season partly because ABC pulled the program after a few weeks then waited several months before returning it to the air. By that time most viewers forgot the show even existed. There was another show on CBS several years ago about a man (John Goodman) killed by a train and his brain was transfered to a new superhuman body. That show ended with the hero taking his wife and child into hiding. The man who created this superhuman later played the president on 24 and now hawks car insurance on TV.

That man is Dennis Haysbert, who is now in his third season of The Unit.

Haysbert also played Pedro Cerano in Major League. That's his best role if you ask me.

Bats, they are sick. I cannot hit curveball. Straightball I hit it very much. Curveball, bats are afraid. I ask Jobu to come, take fear from bats. I offer him cigar, rum. He will come.

*Looks at Roger Dorn's (Corbin Bernsen) golf bag, takes a club cover.* Hats for bat. Keep bat warm. Gracias. ;D

I see Cavemen and Carpoolers going after 6 episodes and I also see the new version of The Bionic Woman going after the 1st of the year if sooner. The reruns of the 70's show featuring Lindsay Wagner are much better, the new version is nowhere near what Lindsay Wagner's version was and still is. I hope that they don't try The Six Million Dollar Man as a new version either.

NBC's Bionic woman will most likely continue to at least finish the season, I believe.
I need to watch a few more episodes before having an opinion on it though.

What's the deal with ABC?
I thought they were going ahead with another season of that bingo gameshow, but I don't see it in their tv listing...
Did they turn it into only being an online event after all?
Ratings were pretty much dismal, even with record high internet usage...

I do wonder what the reaction will be if the Caveman show does pull in high ratings...do they send a viewing team into a room and start to pay them to watch tv ads now...just to have them search for the next "big hit" or what?
(lol)

I think viewing teams are safe for now. I saw about 5 min of Cavemen tonight - it was tedious.

Bingo Night will, seemingly inexplicably, be back as a weeklong stunt sometime this season (I doubt that will make it any more compelling, but then again, this is the network that actually thought people picking glorified glowsticks out of tubes would make for a compelling game show).

As for Cavement...it may have been the most inane thing I've seen in years. (Disclosure: I thought the same thing about 3rd Rock From the Sun after one episodes, too....but I would say there's NO chance for Cavemen redemming itself).

You beat my by one minute. I don't think it will make it back next week. Cavemen needs to be extinct!

While the Bionic Woman did well during the first week of ratings, I am not certain if it will last the season.

I did watch the first and second episodes and will give the show a C+, for the time being.

As for Caveman, there is no way I would watch that program.

My favorite show is still Two-and-a-half men. This season's first episode, with Charlie having a rash in a certain part of his body, was hilarious.
