Cancelled All Services..but be CERTAIN

Went through each phone number and Vehicle Radio number and subsequantly cancelled all Sirius and XM services today. The audio quality has gotten SO bad that nobody in my family will even try it anymore. They don't care a whit about it. Sirius/XM seems to have placed all of their faith in Howard Stern. Hope that serve them well..but here's the thing..

When we went through all the phone numbers and account numbers etc..we found three OLD OLD OLD subscriptions that were still active and being billed for..These had been cancelled, the radios/vehicles sold or thorwn out but they NEVER did it. MY BAD for not monitoring the charges closely enough. Be careful if you cancel, and check often to make sure they indeed do it.

When you cancelled, did you tell them that it was the audio quality, in case they actually keep track of why they're losing 2% of their customers every quarter?

Yes I did tell them that. Further, I called tech support, and one of the more candid fellows explained that much of the problems are coming from the added data services they offer "Travel Link"? That doesn't seem to use a cell connection like On Star..so it must use a combination of the sat data and the GPS data in each vehicle. In any case, yeah I explained my reason for cancellation. Got a blank response from the Customer Care rep..who, was VERY nice..but apparently did not actually cancel my billing when I asked the, to. It took a couple more calls. So watch your bank statements for a good while to be SURE the debits are stopped.

I recently resubscribed under the discounted deal they offered. One thing I forgot was what junk those radios were! Of course, I mainly bought it to test the personalized internet streams, and 75% of my listening is internet-based (if you include all radio instead of just satellite, it's well above 95% internet listening). The only reason to activate the radio was because it was cheaper to activate the radio and add the internet listening to that subscription than to buy an internet-only subscription!

This can quite oftenly be true.

The Dodge Factory Sirius "wow and flutter" swirly sounds is just about unusable on the music channels. Voice channels are almost less annoying.
The bad thing about using the intenernet radio feed is that I went 'over' on my data usage for the first time ever, which is costing me bucks, so I don't like that aspect. Now if there was just a way to get the audio quality, or even half the internet quaity, on the actual car satellite receivers, I could live with that. I will not renew my car sub.

And this is why, when you go onto the auto forums to find out how to get renewal deals, they ALWAYS say don't give a credit card because it's just too easy for billing to go on and on and on. Ask for a mail statement and pay by check for each year.
