Canned News On KT'R?

At 11:02, after the ABC TOH news, the KT'R news anchor opens the local 'cast
with "it's two minutes past the hour"...does some local stories...then signs off
before throwing to the (Metro?) traffic guy. The traffic guy does the weather
(after traffic) then promos back to the Ramsey-a-thon.

Was this a canned newscast by Arizona's leading radio news team? Where's
the 24/7 coverage? Even 55/FYI now touts itself as a 24-hour newscenter.
I'm not sure that is true for either station on weekends, but...

Yo, MasterBlogger--you may have some splainin' to do! ::)

That's standard on Friday-Saturday overnight. On other nights, I think they only do it when Benjamin is off since they don't take someone off another shift to fill in for him.

I noticed certain times are "canned" on certain news stations. You hear the exact same thing repeated all night long until a certain time in the morning. If there's going to be a low "around 75", then it's safe to just say that all night long - as long as it stays "around 75". As long as a cloud exists somewhere in the sky, it's mostly clear or partly cloudy. Since it's night time, the cloud doesn't always have to be visible to anyone - because after all, it is dark. You can add in a chance of rain if you wish, depending on whether or not there is a chance of rain. In addition to this, whatever happened already happened, so canned news can be convenient sometimes.

That's just my hypothesis. ;)
