Can't A Man Go Fishin'?

A man takes a ten day break to go fishin' and black fly huntin' in Canada and finds the world in turmoil when he comes back to civilization! Shredd & Ragan in afternoon drive displaced by Opie & Anthony and no church in Buffalo is safe. The middle east is ravaged and Exxon makes $10 billion in the last quarter. I knew I shoulda bought the newspaper at the Crowes Landing General Store.[/Mike]

Sure, Mike. Then you could have come back with stories about Mad Dog and Billie possibly coming back to do mornings, Bell Globemedia's pending buy out of CHUM and whiney Lebanese-canadians (their small "c") who aren't happy about the evacuation from the war zone even though they haven't lived in Canada for more than 5 years.
You should have taken an extra week on the water... ::)

Hooked

Do you really think the folks around Stoney Lake care about O&A, let alone S&R?

Besides, what are you doing fishing during the middle of construction season? September, after the kids are back in school, is the perfect time for that.

At least you had sense enough to stay away from Bobcaygeon in the summertime.

Mad Dog and Billie are coming back to do mornings in the Toronto market in the middle of the dial.

"Unkie Waldo" makes the vacation schedules. Sure, I "suggested" getting some time off during one of the hottest spells of the summer, but being a family business, there's always a relative who's only too eager to huff paint thinner and spirits while working inside a 110 degree building on the east side, all the while cursing my good name for being fortunate enough to get some time off.

Truth is, I did listen to some radio while north of T-O, but for the most part, it was a quiet period... almost like being on a religious retreat... well, except for the beer... and the numerous games of hearts... and the Labatt beer farts... oh, and the dirty jokes. But other than that, it was almost like a religious retreat... except for the bonfire got a little out of hand and the constable who showed up at 3 a.m. to ask why one of our boats was on fire.

BTW, Sirius does not work well in a forest with 30 foot closely-spaced pine trees and vegetation. The antenna worked best on a bough about 10 feet up a tree... which was fine until a blue jay or crow left a cheese danish on the damn thing...

After all was said and done, nothing comes in like AM radio.

Yeah, Mike...you should have stumbled upon him...I understand he's gone fishin', too. Only he retired last year, so he's dropping the line in the water quite a bit these days from what I hear.
