Can't wait for RJ To Return

Live and local talk on the weekend. What an interesting concept. <smirk> It'll never work. <evil laugh>

Right... Just like that show in you area that was hosted by Jay Clark...

I can wait for his return. I remember working in the 60's at WNAR Norristown and playing his pre recorded brokered programs. I also had to play a guy who called himself "Super Lou" who insisted we ad an echo loop during playback. Mr Soul Sound Soupie. Anyone remember This or WNAR?

Super Lou was hired by Rust Communications and worked at WAEB fom 1968 to 1972. WAEB-The Mighty 790, the same station Rod Carson worked at twice.
what was the question?

Since the subject has changed to WNAR, I remember WNAR...and the fact that the station played Top 40 and Oldies on the weekends up until 1970...and it was decent enough to hear in Levittown where I grew up. I remember Teddy Miller, who was Walt Kahn, doing Saturdays or Sundays. The station was owned by Rahall during that time.

I just received a clean copy of the WNAR jingles...and am now trying to get a copy of the WIFI jingles from Potshop Road. They're classic...and I would love to acquire a dub.

Anyone?

Kevin,
Check with Tom Mcnally from New Jersey. I know he has some of the original jingles. I remember when I was in the Scouts we had a huge Jamboree in Valley Forge in 1961. WNAR was there with their remote van. JFK addressed the scouts so they were there for the news coverage as well. They took all the W's off of all jingles and had a contest with clues. It was called the missing W contest. They would announce "this is the station with the missing "W" this is ....NAR Norristown. The clues led to the Mayor of Norristown giving a speech with the W on his lapel. At the Jamboree Art Andrews was the announcer and I remember a woman walking up to the remote van and on live radio stating "she found the W and "it was right there on the sign that said WNAR" (on the remote van), Art Andrews not missing a beat said "m'am that is not the missing W but, it happens to be the only one we have in captivity at this time". As a 12 year old Boy Scout I remember roaring with laughter at this.
