Cape Cod pirate on 88.7

Received an interesting pirate in the Hyannis area yesterday. Home programed from metal to rap to the monster mash. Guy IDing as "88.7 The Test". His transmitter did cut out mid song a little bit after 19:00 and never came back. Anyone else heard this guy?

I recieved a pirate on Marthas Vineyard that ID'd itself as 88.7 The Squid. That was 2 years ago. It had an oldies format. I doubt its the same one though.

Hopefully someone will set up a pirate station _next_ to your favorite pirate to interfere... and run THE BEST OF RUSH LIMBAUGH...Classic Country...or how about all audiobook radio? Coming up next, all 63 hours of
Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged. Why not? No rules...just right. "I LOVE pirate radio!" :)

It happened on the legal side . Trash stations up in N.H. are killing great legal stations like Hot 106 and Fun 107.

To the FCC there is a differance between a unlicensed station and a pirate station do you guys know what it is?

I know in the UK a pirate station is an offshore station. Does the same apply here?

unlicensed stations fall under the part 15 rules set fourth by the FCC and thus do not require a license.

pirate stations do not, they violate the part 15 rules and operate illegally.

That's the difference.

unlicensed ones are part 15 compliant, where pirates don't give a rats backside if they interfere with air traffic operations at Logan, or trample on legally authorized broadcasters?
