The usual wierd swings in the 12+. Looks like Cool 102, Pixy, and MVY are up.

I would be interested to read further analysis from anyone who knows the market. I worked for QRC a million years ago. Greg Bone and Co seem to still be a first class operation. But, the market is so crowded down there. I don't know how some of these stations survive the winter months.

Recently WQRC has adjusted their format to a Hot AC. They dropped the Sunday morning smooth jazz show, and replaced it with the Hot AC version of Seacrest's American Top 40. They still air the traditional ocean sounds at the top of the hour, along with local news, which to me, sounds odd on a Hot AC station. I'm sure they've probably lost quite a few of their older listeners who may have tuned in at times just to hear the newscasts.

Ocean 104.7 seems to have some local news, but not as much as WQRC. Their format seems to include more mainstream AC every day, although there are still a lot of oldies, but it's nothing like the standards format they were as "Ocean 104" on 103.9 a few years ago.

Cape 104 (103.9), which started off just months ago as a Hot AC seems to have adjusted to more of a mainstream CHR.

Greg Bone and Co are still a good radio group - a "class act" for certain. still committed to the community and local news, and they just recently won the Business of the Year from the Hyannis Chamber of Commerce. No egos in the building - just a lot of experienced people who love radio and love living on cape cod.
