Cape Cod Spring Ratings

Go to the Ratings link at the top of the page here on R-I and you'll see the latest ratings posted for various markets. Click "See all markets', then scroll down to market # 193 for Cape Cod. However, the latest ratings posted for Cape Cod are for 2008 so they aren't updated yet.

Worcester, on the other hand, is updated for Spring 2009 with WSRS leading the pack very handily, doing twice what WXLO is doing locally. WXLO is #4 with two Boston stations between WSRS and WXLO. I assume it's ok to post the numbers since it's taken right from the R-I list.

Locally, WSRS all the way; WXLO down bigtime from a year ago; 100FM the Pike holding fairly steady; WTAG down alot; WVEI, WCRN holding down the basement; Oldies 98-9 (WORC-FM) barely treading water:

You're calling WAAF a Boston station. The WKAF simulcast makes that true, but WAAF transmitting from W. Boylston is still a Worcester market station. I doubt that much of their Worcester ratings are coming from people listening on 97.7.

I realize the 98.9 signal isn't great in Worcester and outright sucks in many areas of the market, but would Citadel have anything to lose if they were to flip the station to country and take on WKLB's always huge Worcester numbers? Not only might that format work better in the more rural areas where the WORC-FM signal is strongest, but look at the Oldies 98.9 playlist as of late; they seem to be sharing quite a bit of musical ground with WWFX.

I never understood the point in running both ORC-FM and WWFX with such similar formats.. at least once a week you can flip between the two stations and they'll be playing the same song at the same time. I know ORC-FM is a small class A signal, and that's why I don't completely agree with trying to compete in Worcester. If someone were to take that station local in the Northeast CT / Southern Worcester County area, it could make a bundle. Just look at WINY Putnam, going strong as a community station. I bet they'd love a class A FM simulcast!

Add WEEI, WVEI & WEEI-FM together, and it's a respectable 4.7...not bad for out of town programming.

Interesting that outside of WSRS and WAAF (and to a lesser extent WXLO), the Worcester stations don't seem to be doing that well. WWFX and WTAG seem to have some kind of presence there.

WORC-AM beats WORC-FM?

I never understood why WCRN does SO badly in the ratings.

Is WWFX "The Pike"...or "The Fox"?

They are 100FM The Pike. They haven't been The Fox for a few years.

I live in central Mass and listen to them almost exclusively at home. Always mornings with Cruisin Bruce and other times of the day if I'm local. Unfortunately, I have yet to hear a full afternoon show with Frank Foley but I heard him on Friday morning. He'll be filling in for Bruce through Thursday while also doing his afternoon shift.

I like Oldies 98-9 but can't always get them. And when driving, once I hit I-495, they are out of range.

When did 103.9 change its format??? Was it sold????

103.9??? I don't believe there is any station at 103.9 in Worcester or Boston. ???

103.9A WKPE is country "Cape Country 104", has been since December 2008.

104.7B WOCN is AC "Ocean 104.7", the format relocated from 103.9 in April 2007.

i used to listen to Pixy 103 (WPXC 102.9) here just outside boston but now the pirate 102.9 Choice FM over powers it :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[
