Is there any other CHR on The Cape or does this leave that area without the format? Is this good news for Fun 107 which I assume has a good signal down there? I doubt Wpro FM would be a player.

No other CHRs on the Cape. I think that new country station used to be CHR. Their website still promotes them as a Christmas station so that tells you how serious they are at promoting a new format.

So David Duran is already out as The Rose's PD and Ricky B is on one of the other stations in the cluster. Other than weekenders the only ? is the morning show on The Rose. Duran and Cool's Larry Egan did lose their jobs because of staff shuffling and I'm not sure I really agree with that tactic. You have The Rose which is going to flip so you move people around within your group to other stations, upsetting the sound of those stations just because another is changing. It's nice that they did find a way for certain people to keep their jobs even though others lost theirs but why change your hot ac and classic hits stations just because you're losing your CHR?

Market manager quoted as saying no staff cuts so maybe there'll be more shuffling around.

So that leaves a CT signal closer to Hartford to augment 103.7's and 105.5's coverage and then coverage in VT and possibly Concord and Conway to have a good coverage spread for New England...hmmmmmmmmmmmm

Wow. That's sad. Were the Rose ratings that bad? I never really paid attention since I don't live up there.

It's too difficult to generate revenue when catering to the 12-24 year olds on Cape Cod. Kids don't stick-around on the Cape after high school. Besides, kids don't listen to the radio. Plus, the average age of the Cape is like 40. Thus, no mo' Top 40.

I heard they were 10th and WEEI (AM) was 14th. And I don't think the signal is crystal clear on the Cape, other wise I don't think they'd need 96.3 FM.And I guess 103.7 from Westerly isn't good enuff either.

Butchy from the Cape would had love this ( R.I.P. ) but I think it SUCK ! I love The Rose ( One of the best music station in New England ) .

for you all who live in Rhode Island, may you all be able to hear 96.3 from your area or from Providence area?

Not well except during the summer and then it is mostly the lower part of the state...those in Little Compton & Tiverton probably the best bet

Do we really need WEEI on 96.3 ? 850 WEEI Signal come in just fine on the Cape . R.I.P. The Rose .

Before the tower was moved to Dennis, WRZE was clear in much of Southern Rhode Island, especially south of East Greenwich, and especially during the summer. However, since the move to Dennis, reception, even during the summer, is much more spotty, except for in Bristol and Newport Counties, where the station is easily heard.

The Cape station with the best Rhode Island reception is Cool 102. Amazingly, the station comes in like a local in nearly 1/2 of the state.

I'm surprised Cool 102 doesn't pick up good numbers in RI. Granted they're not localized to the market but at this point after mornings neither is B101 which is probably the one station closest to their format. Just shows in this market those still listening to radio just settle into what's here.
