BACK IN the 1990s, when Kathryn Lake was a well-known radio personality in Madison, her buddy John Kovalic, the cartoonist, took her to the Comedy Club on State Street to see the touring comic Steve Marmel.
When that didn't work out, Lake turned to radio. She spent much of the next decade as an on-air radio personality at various Madison music and talk stations.When Lake relocated to Chicago a few years ago, she worked in public relations and then spent five months pinch-hitting on WGN radio when one of the station's overnight personalities was ill. She currently works for Segway, the company that developed a two-wheeled electric transportation device called the Segway Human Transporter.
