Capitol Flareup? Hallmark and PBS Duel on the 4th

Washingtonians will remember that this isn't the first time for competing 4th of July shows in DC. Back in 1984, the Beach Boys headlined a show on the grounds of the Washington Monument. This year, the Beach Boys move to the Capitol Steps for the PBS show.

Of the three broadcasts, I'd have to say NBC put on the best one with their coverage of the NYC (Macy's) fireworks. Hallmark had a superior music lineup to PBS which, despite a capable host in John Stamos, put on what, IMO, was a pretty lackluster broadcast.
