Captin Herb's Nascar show

I haven't heard Captin Herb's Nascar show on WSB lately, did they cancel it? I know it gets preempted because of UGA football and men's basketball, but the season is over for UGA and we are a month into the new season.

Maybe it's gone. Nascar is a dying thing in Georgia.Losing one AMS race and having tracks like Lanier Raceway close have had an impact. We'd much rather watch & talk about college & pro sports here.

Just checked the WSB schedule. It IS gone. I'd like to hear Herb do a Ludlow-type of show now that Denny Ainsworth has taken his daily show off the air.

I think Nascar was trying to grow more of a National audience by adding tracks in different cities and eliminating a few with twice a year races (Atlanta). I also think the economy has really hurt the core of their fan base. There are a lot of pickups at the races and $4 gas prices and slow construction jobs don't help sell seats and t-shirts.
With all that said, it was nice to hear Captain Herb show a little more personality beyond covering traffic messes.

+1 Vin.
NASCAR is a niche. like the NHL.
eventually on VS or a dedicated sports channel.
radio coverage for the under-30 doesn't matter.
their car radio is like the parking brake. unused.
