Car radio presets

TANKSBACK said:
You only have 6 pre-sets? Must be fun driving a Yugo! ;D
I have an FM1 and FM2 and AM, but I only use the FM1. Too many crappy radio stations out there. Six presets is far too many for the awful product some stations put out these days. I usually only listen to Click or Fly, or my CDs. The rest I only listen to once in a great while.
For the record, I own a Hyundai with an excellent stereo system. I have never owned a Yugo...although I bet it wouldn't have broken down as much as my awful '96 Neon did.

I only use the FM1 as well.

1) WMWX -- ClassX <of course!!!>
2) Journey 94.1
3) MOJO100.3
4) Q-102
5) WGRR
6) whatever they're calling WPFB now <need to put something new on there, but not sure what yet>

AM

1) WLW
2) whatever they're calling WPFB now <see above...gotta get that bluegrass garbage off my preset but not sure what to replace it with>
3) RealTalk1160
4) WMOH
5) FoxSports1360
6) WDJO

If I want music, I listen to my Ipod. So, for the most part, FM is useless to me...except for checking possible skip conditions.

Mainly use XM for radio unless Weather is bad. Then I use local radio.

I bought a new vehicle this month in 2009, and to this day, HAVE NOT PROGRAMMED ANY OF THE FM PRESETS – the radio "remembers" my last visit to ClassX when I switch to FM, tho... Near-shocking, considering the size of my CD collection and love for music-oriented radio in past decades. My iPod serves me well, but I wish an FM station would... I'm getting tired of replacing all those over-priced "proprietary" batteries.

On AM:
550 – It's Brian Thomas every weekday morning!
700 – 'Gotta get my dose of Willie [when he works], and I enjoy Gary Jeff Walker, D.P., and Ken Broo on weekends.
740 – Yes, I occasionally find humor in the utter futility of those shows that try to dissuade Catholic teenage men from enjoying that inevitable adolescent male delight aka j******-o** :D
1160 – Laura Ingraham is a weekday fav, Dennis Miller [when Willie's off chasing Sean Compton's "fantasy"], and Andy Furman
1480 – GAWD, I hope this station is with us for a long time!
1580 – more than fills the bill when I travel northwest into that nasty null that plagues WDJO, or I head home to visit the parents. This one's an illusive "dream come true" and saves me from a "Big Chill" or "Frat Rock" overload! ;)

FM
1.WGRR - I enjoy the music mix. The air talent are strong. I think the station could do a better job of giving a bit more in news headines with Angie . There are times a listener has to to tune out because they need a boit more info.
2. WUBE-FM - They know how to do it.
3. WARM 98 - Good change of pace. They are not as good as they used to before all the on air budget cuts. They need a live Mid-Day talent
4. WGTZ - The Fly - msic mix is fun but when is Main Line so cheap or is it they just don't understand the basics of radio in giving us a live morning DJ.
5. q-102 - can be fun at times
6. WMOJ - again at times fun to listen to.

AM

1. WLW - Jim Scott and Ken Broo are the best. The station is not what it used to be back when they had the strong D.J. line up including James Francis O'Neil and Jockey Joe Kelly.

2. WCKY - Lance and Mo make the station. Mike & Mike are good but they are not local. Keep airing the ESPN baseball games sound great.
3. 1360- The Fox Sports Shows are bad. I only listen because of Dan Patrick.
4. WDJO -The music is fun to hear. Marty does s great job. You gotta support a single owner.
5. WQRT - They ae working hard to build something here. Andy Furman and Eric Deters are solid additions
6. WONE - 980 I would like to support WING but the afternoon local show is very weak and I like the team in the afternoon on 980.

When I'm in my hometown of Dayton and in the car here's what's on the FM Dial Presets:

1) 88.9 - WCSU/Central State University - Smooth/Urban/Contemporary Jazz
98.5 - WRRM/Warm 98 - mainly for Smooth Jazz Sunday Morning, but still a pretty good AC music mix

2) 92.1 - WROU/Dayton's R&B - good station but they play the same songs over & over a little much
105.9 - WNKN/Northern Kentuck Univ. - pretty good station (Triple-A) but mainly listen for Jazz Overnights

3) 101.9 - WKRQ/Cincinnati's Q102 - Listen all the time, probably my favorite station outside of any Smooth Jazz. Great DJ's their Hot AC/Top 40 Format is presented in a classy way
101.3 - WFMG/Richmond, IN G101.3 - Plays good songs occasionally, another place for Top 40 along with a few 90's/early 2000's hits

4) 99.9 - WLQT/Channel 999 - Another clear channel Top 40 station
107.1 - WKFS/Kiss 107 Cincinnati - Cincinnati's equal to Channel 999, occasional old school top 40 hit thrown in.

5) 94.9 - WMOJ/Rewind 949 Cincinnati - plays occasional songs that I like
94.1 - WNNF/Journey 941 Cincinnati - same as above: plays occasional songs that I like

You forgot WMOH. You seem to know so much about them. ::)
