Cardinals post-game - DA embarrasses KTVK

In its Cardinals post-game show, KTVK carried live the interview with Derrick Anderson but quickly cut off the sound and cut away from the interview after the first two expletives (s**t) went out live over the air.

Brad Cesmat was clearly embarrassed by the interview and did a fairly professional job moving past it, but for anyone thinking that channel 3 is going to be fined by the FCC, it's not going to happen. The interview occurred shortly after 10:00 pm, so they will be safe from FCC action, regardless of whether or not anyone complains. IMO, had it been before 10:00, KTVK should still have been safe from sanctions, as the event was live and they voluntarily cut away from the interview in a timely and responsible manner.

They later played part of the interview with expletives bleeped, but I would have liked to seen the entire rant, with or without the salty language. It's the most heart I've seen out of DA all year.

I don't think KTVK has anything to worry about. I don't remember any station getting fined for airing Denny Green's "crown their a**" tirade 5 years ago. NFL press conferences are what we thought they were. ;D

Besides, Anderson embarrassed himself and the team far more than he did any local TV station. I expect him to get fined once Whiz sees the tape. I also expect Max Hall to start against the Rams on Sunday.

And, at least according to Doug & Wolf on KTAR, the reporter who asked the questions that sent Anderson into his Ryan Leaf-esque meltdown was the Repulsive's Kent Somers.

Funny!!! :D

A newspaper reporter caused a "tv" moment that will be replayed all over the country.

I also heard that it was Somers on the channel 12 news last night. I'm thinking of sending him a gift basket. :)

Don't you have to have viewers before you get complaints? ;D

I'm guessing the only ones watching near the game's end were in S.F.

Meanwhile over at Channel 5, Jason Barry, who was co-anchoring this morning, said that (I'm paraphrasing, but it's very close) "ESPN doesn't give out the names of the reporters, but he wasn't one of ours."

Yeah, like we care about your station going into CYA mode for no reason, especially when the rest of the world already knew it was Somers. ::)
