"After two years at COX 80's KHPT (106.9 The Point)/HOUSTON, APD/afternooner Carey Edwards has resigned. His last day will be JANUARY 20th, but he may have a new move to announce, soon."

I'll admit I don't know what if anything it means. Likely that Cox will be staying with the 80's format and he is tired of being with a lame duck station that is not going to see better days without a format change.

It means Carey has been offered a great gig, but can't say much else at the moment. Good for him!<P ID="signature">______________

106 what? Carey who? Good gig or not - get out while the gettin's good.

Are they still on the air forfukesake man? I certainly hope somebody... well, make that everyone got fired over allowing that tired format in this town.

I'd rather endure a public flogging than tune to that frequency in it's current mode of programing.

Why? Because I can't remember the 80's and that frightens me terribly.

Wish he'd end up back here in Arizona. Good luck Carey!

Carey has been passed-over more than once when it came to finding someone to program the station. I hear he is going to Austin. Best of luck to you Carey. Sorry you spent two years of your life on a dead-end street.

I don't think anyone here in Houston would care if you took the whole damn station to Arizona.
