Carl Baker

I found out yesterday that Carl Baker passed away over the weekend. I had the pleasure of working with him for a number of years and even went to college with him back in 1992. We lost a great radio personality, great person and great friend.

Yes, Baker took over for me after I realized I needed a regular FT job. Then he also decided it was time to move on and WGPA mornings went from Jarret Brown to Jason Richards, and finally the current Mark Thomas.

Here is the obit from Mcall.com

I worked with Cal back in the '70's at WCRV in Washington, NJ, and kept in touch through the years. He had a big heart, a great laugh, and an edge to his wit that kept you on your toes. "Buddy Cal" was an asset to this planet, and I shall miss him.

The Rightous Brothers sing "If there's a rock and roll heaven", well the corner reserved for the DJ's just got expanded. The last time I saw Carl was 2 years ago at the Easton Relay for Life. He and Scott had volunteered to be part of the entertainment. He was truly a caring individual. May you find comfort in the arms of the Angels, Carl.

I worked with Carl as well and he was always great to work with. I always had a lot of respect for him and often wondered what he was up to. I think if there were some master list of under-rated local personalities, Carl Baker would definitely be on that list.
