Carl P. Mayfield Returns

Carl P. Mayfield will become the centerpiece of the 'new' Road Dog Trucking channel on Sirius satellite radio. Will Nashvillians jump to satellite as Howard Stern fans did in January? Will he change his style at all on 'uncensored' radio?

Also, WSM has switched to channel 117 from 111 to allow Cosmo to be located next to Martha on 112. WSM channel is now voiced by WSM jocks but is only a simulcast during certain shows (Eddie Stubbs & the Opry).

We've been speculating on this board for a while on where Carl P. would pop up again. I can't say I'm too surprised on Sirius since I've racked my brain trying to think of which local station would take a chance on him again.
I don't think anyone in Nashville will rush out and invest in Sirius, but I will tune in the next time I am travelling and see what he sounds like. And, hopefully he will not take any advantage of 'uncensored' radio!!!

I think he is great during the afternoon drive. I've always felt he was really back on top of his game at WSIX in the afternoons. The show back on KDF just didn't have the energy of his early days or his WSIX show. How long will he last on Sirius? Guess it all depends on him.

Jason.

I don't think that newscasts appearin either XM or Sirius stations that are devoted to music, just the ones devoted to news. If that is the case, I don't think the Thin White Duke of News would appear in that capicity with Carl P. Mayfield.
By the way, whatever became of another radio sidekick of Carl P., Tom Boodle?

Yep Duke is on the air with Carl P on Sirius.

Bootle recently passed away. Very sad.
