Carlos De Jesus (92/KTU) passed away

I have just learned that legendary on-air personality Carlos De Jesus (92/'KTU) has passed away today (Feb. 13th)

He meant SO much to the fans of disco when we've heard him on 'KTU (Disco 92) with his pleasant, happy-go-lucky demeanor. He kept that persona up while hosting "New York Dance Tracks" on WABC-TV, breaking out cutting edge dance music just after the disco era passed and a new era of dance music was arriving, including freestyle.

I'm still in disbelief about this and very upset. He really meant SO much to everyone around him and grew up with him.

He will be sorely missed. God now has another "voice". :(

Weird. As a kid I used to spend my summers in Asbury Park, and I used to watch New York Hot Tracks on WABC. I never knew much about Carlos De Jesus, but just a couple of weeks ago out of nowhere I started thinking about this show from nearly 30 years ago. I meant to Google Carlos, but forgot about it until I read this sad news story today. Now I realize he was a radio legend in NYC. Condolences to his family.

I did pay my respects at the wake. He was a major influence to me so I had to be there.

Even though I never personally met him while he was alive I felt as if I knew him and, in effect, I did every time I would turn on WKTU back then to hear him along with the other jocks of the station. I also followed "New York Hot Tracks" religiously when he was the first host.

I only stayed briefly but just enough to do the sign of the cross and thank him.

I never met him but knew that name, feeling bad and Hope he RIP!!! Sorry to his family and friends and Fans. I will keep you all in my prayers. Tony glad you got to know him and go to his memorial, I am sure he was happy!!!
