Carmy Ferreri Out at KFRH/KBET?

Well good for him! Carmy is a good programmer... Way to good for the likes of Ed. I know it's tough to find a job these days. But honestly, I would get out of radio before I worked for Ed.

Has this been confirmed? A source told me this took place but I haven't seen it reported. Of course if a trade wanted some scoop on this it would be difficult since Royce doesn't have a local office telephone number.

Today I am seeing it reported several places. Carmy quit due to "deep philosophical differences". You heard it here first.

Will Ed find a PD who can get along with him?

Plain and simple it's just a bad radio station. Audio delivered in left channel only, when it is in stereo it's over modulated....sad. The night show is just about one of the worst things I've heard on radio and I've heard bad. Someone clear the guys throat for him. Billy Bush afternoons? Pathetic excuse for what should be a live and local radio station. Small independent owners like this should be the ones blazing the new trail to save radio from the likes of CC and others.

How do you explain their good ratings? (at least the last I saw) Is it their low commercial load?

You are correct JayF. It's hard not to do well when you air only 2 to 4 minutes of commercials per hour. Especially when your competitors (KLUC, Party, KVEG, and Mix) air at least triple that. Plus Carmy was doing a pretty good job with the music.

I'd attribute it to that. They have done a good job (the one thing) branding as commercial free/stop less music. Truth is with syndication those ads are gonna have to air to pay for the sad Billy Bush show. Not sure I'd even give up a :5 from my inventory to have Billys programing on my air. But, let's be honest here people...that station is sloppy as hell. There's no excuse for over modulated, single channel, delivery. There are a few songs that have windows sfx in them.

Windows SFX is verified! Saw the office/automation/browsing computer for myself. Looked like a run of the mill desktop. Funny, Carmy Ferreri's name and number are still taped to the reception desk in case the FCC shows up and he station is a ghost-town and the public file is locked in Ed's office. LOLZ
