CARNAGE AT NBC 7/39 San Diego

THe San Diego Union-Tribune reports that NBC San Diego has laid off at least 12 employees, including editors, photographers and production staff members. It is also axed “Noticias Mi San Diego,” its early-morning Spanish-language newscast; the weekend “NBC 7/39 in the Morning” newscasts; and “Streetside San Diego,” the Friday morning lifestyle show.

Although they say that no on-air talent was given the ax, a wag tells me that Artie Ojeda has "left the building" as a result of the layoffs.

There haven't been any layoffs recently at our NBC Station here in the Bay Area KNTV. Things for the most part at KNTV have been running very well.
