Carolla on KFI

And this isn't in violation with his deal with CBS? He should bring in Teresa along with his solo show!

Depends on his contract. No compete isn't legal in California, so either it's run out and he's been paid off or they've given him permission to start working in radio again... Could he be trying out for mornings? With Bill working on his syndicated noon show it could be a possibility..

Carolla doing mornings on KFI, with HIS liberal views...I love Carolla, but that just wouldn't work...how come CC just won't add Carolla on KTLK, since KABC has added FHF???

Forget the Carolla controversy. I'm mad at Handel. He's on vacation AGAIN??? He is almost getting as many vacations as Howard Stern who does only 4 days a week and seems to take every third week off. Come on I expect my talk show hosts to show up every day.

No-competes cannot be enforced in California as part of an "at-will" relationship. They are, however, legal and enforceable if part of a union or personal services contract.

Have never heard that they are legal and enforcable at all in any way shape or form unless the contract has not run out yet, so that's a new one on me...

Great. Carolla killed talk on KLSX and now they're considering to give him the chance to ruin a timeslot on KFI?

Um, what liberal views? Carolla's show was never really that politcal, but I think one of his major rants was that the government was totally incompetent. Don't really think that's liberal...

Carolla didn't kill KLSX. Stern jumping to satrad did.

You're both wrong. Roy Laughlin killed KLSX.

In my opinion, AC hit it out of the park. I love Handel but I can handle only so many Handelisms. Purposely misspelling words, reminding everyone how rich he is, Yiddish old man accents... getting kind of old and I have only been listening for 3 years. Handel is funniest when he doesn't try so hard. He has been trying very hard lately, especially since Laura was canned.

Carrolla's humor may not work on KFI. It requires worldliness and a level of sophistication that most over 50 have no chance in hell getting. Eventhough I didn't care for Man Show or anything else he did on TV, he rocked on Loveline.

Carolla's problem re KFI: Stories are too-long winded to payoff in KFI's highly formatted clock. Stern's (and Carolla's) story-telling worked because he could go for 45 minutes without stopping on KLSX. Carolla also doesn't focus as much on current new events. Handel (and Michelle) keep it topical at all times.

gcreedle239 is correct. Carolla would be entertaining for a short time for a show that wasn't formatted to give the news of the day. He talks about stuff but doesn't really get to the news. He would work fine for the 5:00 hour but the rest of the Handel show is usually much more about the news and short wise cracks.
