Carrie Underwood holiday special

I haven't watched it yet, but I had a bad experience because I was taping it.

I decided I could watch the CBS Monday comedies on channel 51. It is the digital station that has performed the best for me. The Fox stations usually give me trouble so I used a VCR ro record from cable. VHS is easier to fast-forward than TiVo, and with Carrie's music there will be a lot of that.

But just after the man said "A new episode of 'Accidentally on Purpose' is next", there was one of these screens you see preceding an infomercial. Did they not KNOW there would be a new episode??? There was a rerun last week. Why not air this then?

So I rush to the TV hooked up to TiVo and turn it on, and Carrie is singing. Not too bad. I don't know how to change channels, so my one choice is to TiVo the program--or what's left of it. Unless I want to TiVo Carrie and have a more frustratng experience as I fast-forward.

Actually, I think I got lucky. It appeared I was seeing the episode from the beginning when I watched it. When I heard Billie's sister do that silly "YAAAY" like when she found out Billie was pregnant, I was reminded I hear that every week as they explain the premise of the show. So maybe that's all I missed.

I did hear part of Carrie's show because the TiVo screen always disappears after a few minutes. And I had to set the TiVo to record a show after the other CBS comedies came back on channel 51. They had a commercial for yet another Christmas special. So Carrie was back a few minutes later. I heard some really annoying contemporary music and it turned out to be Dolly Parton doing one of her old hits. From the Urban Cowboy era, but it wasn't that bad when she did it.

the show was ok after all.It was nice to see Dolly is still going strong ,Fox had a glich at the beginning of the show,as there was digital dropout on and off during the show.probably from Comcast.
What got me pst off was the show was falsely titled ,like you said Chimp it was reguler music.and lacking holiday music .

No, I heard holiday music.

I haven't watched the whole thing. Now Time Warner has given me very little trouble so I should be okay with regard to the signal.

Okay, I was mistaken. Apparently what I could hear from another room wasn't holiday music.

I enjoyed what I saw. I fast-forwarded through all Carrie's solo performances (except "O Holy Night" which was actually pretty good) and Brad Paisley's solo, but I liked the comedy, and the three girls with the beehive hairdos (though I'm not crazy about that music). The best thing was the duet between Carrie and Brad. Conway and Loretta would be proud. I wonder if the fans of today's so-called country know that's what country music is supposed to sound like?

I even liked Dolly's performance after I said I didn't. Those annoying instrumentals weren't as bad as I thought. Carrie and Dolly sounded good too. It's a shame Whitney Houston ever got ahold of that song.

Oh, and Carrie's mom. Where did she get her talent if not from her mom? Or could she really not sing?

I liked the music with Carrie's dog though not the dog.

I thought the show was pretty good, overall. Funny comedy throughout...but, not too much.

Merry Christmas, ya'll!
