Carry Paul on Sunny this weekend

Saturday I heard Carry Paul (sp?) late of WODB on Sunny 95, freelance work? I thought he left town. Also thought I heard Bill Shannon on Sunny but I could be wrong on this one. Would be nice if Saga would spin off one of the smooth jazz stations and put something fresh on the dial.

Glad to hear Cary Pall is still in the area and still involved in Columbus radio. Hopefully that will continue, since -- as I've said before -- he's a great programmer and creative radio strategist and good to have in the market. My understanding, based on what Cary posted on this board a few months ago, is that he was consulting a station in Tulsa during its recent format flip. Maybe some folks jumped to the conclusion that this was a PD position and that he left Columbus. I don't whether Cary's still working with the Tulsa station, but I notice their 12+ AQH jumped almost 50% in the latest trend.

On the format flip issue, last week I saw a quote from Ed Christion, head of Saga, about how there are imminent format changes in store for some of their stations. I'm not betting on Columbus, but if it *is* Columbus it would be nice if Cary were somehow involved.<P ID="signature">______________

Question...is that station in Tulsa a Saga station? Sounds like to me he never left Saga since WODB and Sunny are both Saga stations, along with the Jazz simulcast.

If the Tulsa station is Saga, was he voice-tracked here in Columbus?

Sunny using voice tracking? That would be a first, outside of Deliah everything I have ever heard on there sounds live. Snooze Jazz and ODB is very voicetracked though.

The Tulsa station is KTSO-FM, owned by Shamrock Communications.

Saturday was as live as I can get between jet laggin' it to Tulsa and other clients. Sunny uses voicetracking only under extreme duress. Wish I could print the extraps for KTSO on here...we're very pleased!

Saga doesn't own stations in Tulsa.
