Cary Pfeffer Gone

On KNXV (ABC 15) Sunday morning program, Cary Pfeffer announced that it was his last day. The business he started is doing well and felt now was a good time to leave television. Jon Du Pre is taking over the slot.

I thought Pfeffer did good work. It was weird when he went from the main anchor of KPHO to weekend morning anchor at KNXV. He was one broadcast away from me complaining about how he mispronounces the name CNN's Jeanne Moos.

I noticed the same thing! I'm surprised that someone didn't tell him. It's something that I would expect from, say, Joe Dana but not a veteran newscaster such as Cary.

Well, I'll miss him, but I'm glad to hear that his business is doing well.

To me, Cary was the ONLY reason to watch any news programming on ABC 15.
He had some class and integrity. He will be missed.

Seems a lot of people are bailing out of KNXV for various reasons.

Another item to note is that KNXV cut down the Sunday morning newscast from two hours to one hour.

Jon Du Pre. It seems that he handles Fridays at 6 and 10, Saturdays, and Sunday morning and at 5:30. The "First Team" works Sunday at 10.

I think we talked about this on the board, but I think it is a good idea for Elias, Raml, and Bellis to anchor Sunday nights. ABC has a huge wave of viewers following Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters and KNXV newscasts needs the eyeballs.

Cary Pfeffer is still doing news, in a way. He is occassionally hosting the "Horizon" program at KAET-8 (PBS). I work there, and I see him every other week hosting it. He will be hosting it this coming week.
