Cascada brings it...

New hit "Evacuate the Dancefloor" I believe will be a huge hit in Top 40 and once again brings the dance genre back in the favor of Top 40 radio. It's a LadyGaGa-ish sound that's more pop/dance than pure dance but it should make it big. Anything to get dance music out there is good! Great tune!

Z

actually the Wideboys Edit and the Cahill Edit are just as good as the original. I tested it on my pre-teen daughter. She loved it much more than GaGa.

Z

i'm not sure she will be taken seriously....that whole "everytime we touch" left a bad taste in everybody's mouth.

No it didn't. It was a Top 10 pop hit and sold over a Million records. It only gave haters a reason to scream. They make quality music that not everyone from the dance world appreciates. Do you really think that matters to a Pop station?

jp

just pointing out that the song was flavor of the month and years later only gets rotated on Radio Disney. is that the image she wants? lol

Gusto, Cascada are very very mainstream, but they have had huge hits both here and abroad.
"What Hurts The Most" is still getting airplay on stations like KJ 103 Oklahoma City.
"Everytime We Touch" is still getting airplay on stations like 93-3 KOB Albuquerque, Z-100 New York, Kiss 106.1 Seattle, Kiss 98.5 Buffalo, Wild 102.9 Reno, 93.3 FLZ Tampa, Kiss 108 Boston, even 101.5 WBNQ Bloomington-Normal.

No matter what you think of Cascada past or present...don't you think this song is an instant hit on Top 40? I could be wrong, but I think it'll hit big.

Z

Of course it will be a hit! Anything that is annoying, stupid as shit and/or contains the words: "bling" and "playa" will be an instant hit on a top 40 radio station.

WOW! I am convinced this song is worthless based on your profundity and eloquence. Where do you muster up the verbage to describe such trash on the radio? I was not cognizant of my own shortcomings in hearing a hit. Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Z

1) As CHRles pointed out Cascada nor the records they make are "flavor of the month" being they have been cranking out hits for years now.

2) Speaking about the current single, I do believe that it has what it takes to dent the charts. How far it goes always depends on the audience. If they love it, the skys the limit. I do think though that they could have paved the way a bit smoother had they decided to use a rapper in it that people know as opposed to some unknown guy.

jp

I never thought I'd say this: but very good point about the unknown rapper. I'm not much into rappers but if this dance hit is gonna sell with rap in it, JP makes the point on familiarity.

You're Welcome! Someone needs to add some reality here. That's what I'm here for.

I had a feeling that "evacuate the dancefloor" had a strong chance ever since I noticed it had some similar musical elements to "just dance" by lady gaga. Some may notice it, some may not, but it's definitely in there, just like Sarah McCleod's "white horse" song has certain elements from "milk shake" by Kelis. One has some similar elements due to instrumentation arrangement, and the other due to certain vocal arrangements.

Somehow my sarcasm got lost in translation. Sorry technodj, but I seriously think you are way off base on your analysis of Cascada. That's my opinion and I think others share that opinion but nice try on your reality check anyway.

Normally I really dig CASCADAs songs...loved "Perfect Day" which got virtually no radio love...not really feeling this new one....so that means definate radio hit!!! Everytime I really like a dance artist the song I don't like is the big hit!!! What can I say I must have bad taste in dance music..
On a serious note it seems like Cascada is probably trying to cash in on the Lady Gaga /crossover "dance - pop" that is all over the radio right now...It makes esnce and this may be her biggest hit yet.

The song is alright. Wouldn't mind playing it for a gig if I had to, but it's not something I'd put into my Ipod for now. It has a strong chance due to it's sound, but question is, will that chance follow through successfully into a hit? Or will it just continue to remain a "strong chance by style" to the point it becomes a "could have been, but just never did...."? Maybe, it might be one of those slow charters that will eventually start seeping into other mainstream stations over time.

it's a cash in on lady gaga syndrome, completely abandoning the core cascada fans who like that mega beat euro carnival sound...

Ok I'm starting to like it now.
Cahill and Wideboys remixes.
I have used it in personal mixes more than once, and those mixes are in my Ipod.

I see we have a station in Phoenix playing it, although I've never once heard it play on the radio during the times I listened yet. Maybe it might do almost as well as "sexy bitch", which I've heard on more than two stations in my hometown alone. Whatever it does, hopefully it doesn't suddenly vanish as fast as "when love takes over" and "insomnia" did.
