Another reason for us at Robbins to be thankful this year.

Wow, that's great news!!!!

Finally a non-cover (AFAIK) dance track getting picked up by a major city CHR! It's been awhile, other than the new Madonna of course.
Edited by saladdressing on 11/23/05 09:51 PM.

Congrats John,, I hope the momentum for Dance Music, and your Label keeps on going. Z100 does sometimes play Dance Songs, that other CHRs dont pick up, but I seriously hope some more CHRs pick this up. Its a good harder Edged Euro Dance track, but its pretty Radio Friendly, and Definately not over the hill with the Cheese. Ive been hoping that Chr adds the new DHT-Someone As well, its a good Follow up Dance hit. Actually their are a ton of Radio Friendly Dance hits out now.

This song is popular at my school, and on WWPH, because our cheerleaders dance to this at football games.
______________

XL's been experimenting with several dance tracks throughout this year. Great to see them taking a chance, especially with pure dance music being almost nonexistant in O-Town. It's pretty sad when you have to hit up Miami 5 hours away if you want a good dance weekend fix.
______________

Not only have they been occassionally trying out dance tracks, they have added a mix show every night at 10 and the "live drive at 5" on Friday, while they are not pure dance, they do feature some tracks as well as some dance mixes of current hits.

Thanks for the update Chris :)

I've heard the live drive before, as well as the Club Paris (yes, THAT Paris) house party on weekends, but I wasn't aware of the addition of daily mixes at 10pm. My expectations of XL's mixshows dropped when I got tired of hearing 3+ hours of pure hip-hop laden with ads :)

However I do STRONGLY appreciate XL for testing the dance tracks. Great exposure for a town in desperate need of it!!
______________

I'm so happy Z100 picked this up...they've been so stale with dance music lately...I hope this signifies a turn of events for them. A few years ago they were a lot more cutting edge with it.
