Casey and Heather are back

I heard a promo on 1280 saying that Casey and Heather will be joining the KDOX family. The former KXNT hosts will be on 9A-11A M-F.

I was wondering how long it would take for this to show up here.

Casey and Heather start on August 16 in the aforementioned timeslot. Their official announcement video is up at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1nYRIs41UY and Casey made a podcast explaining why they've gone to KDOX in that particular timeslot, available at http://caseythehost.podbean.com/2010/07/20/why-we-chose-kdox-why-we-love-the-9-11-time-slot/

Personally, I'm excited to have them back. I've missed them greatly ever since CBS killed off international streaming.

Wow… I can't believe I actually listened to the Casey audio post where he describes why he decided to take his show to KDOX. But I'm even more surprised that he thought it was good enough to post for the world to hear! He sounds like he's completely clueless about the radio business. I'm embarrassed for him. Honestly, I have never heard his show… but if it’s as poorly thought out as his audio message… I feel bad for KDOX.

I enjoyed that clip. I thought he had some interesting things to say.I guess I like to hear anyone in radio talk shop.

One thing that surprised me is that from what Casey said it sounds like KDOX wants to win. I though they were content with their 0.2 and didn't strive to be competitive. I guess I was wrong.

I am very curious what these other big exciting plans KDOX has in store that Casey was talking about. With KXNT simulcasting on FM the news-talk landscape has changed since that clip was recorded. It will now be very difficult for any AM talk station to beat KXNT although I wish them the best of luck.

KDOX will have a very hard time surviving against KXNT-FM. With only 28 watts nighttime power, who can hear them after dark anyway? ???

I listened to that audio and the pretentiousness is overwhelming.
