Casey Casem Vs. Dave Hoeffel

Before the Sirius/XM merger, On the 70's channel on the Sirius side they used to have Dave Hoeffel hosting the weekly top 30 countdowns of a certain date back in the 70's. Since the merger they dumped his show in favor of Casey & In my opinion Dave's weekly countdowns were a lot better. It always reminded me of how CBS-FM used to do their countdowns between the top 20's on weekends & the top 30's Cousin Brucie did on wednesdays talking about different things that went on back on that date of the countdown. I really wish they would bring his countdown back to the 70's channel.

I believe Dave Hoeffel is now on the 50s channel.

Casey Kasems' AT40 was on the XM 70's channel before the merger. I don't think the intent was to replace Dave Hoffel, as much as add a nationally known personality to the new XM/Sirius 70's channel. After all, satellite radio is supposed to be a national broadcast. I would think more subscribers are familiar with Casey as opposed to Dave Hoffel, who is a great jock in his own right. At least Dave got to keep his job. How many XM and Sirius air personalities lost their jobs as a result of the merger? Quite a few I would guess.

Too many. They dropped alot of good XM guys in order to keep their sirius guys.
