Casey Coleman (Ken's son) throws out 1st pitch

Thought this would be of interest as it involves the son of a well-known
area broadcaster (not sure if he's done any broadcasting work in Bos. area, but well-known in Cle.):

Casey Coleman, son of longtime Red Sox announcer Ken Coleman, is battling pancreatic cancer. He got to throw out the first pitch at the Indians opener

Article about him via Cle Plain Dealer from Nov

"Who's had the kind of life that I've had? There's no one richer than me. Everything's gone my way. From the time I was a kid. I was captain of my high school football team, president of my senior class. I got to hang around my sports heroes, Ted Williams and Jim Brown. I have two beautiful kids, a great career doing something I love."

Hey, I recognize that screen capture!

:D

Thanks for posting this, raccoon. As we reported earlier on OMW, Casey told a WJW FOX 8 reporter that he was hoping to be back on the air on WTAM/1100 sometime around the 4th of July.

Now, I don't know if he's being optimistic, but a lot of folks in this region are pulling for him.

Casey is a great guy!

I worked with him at the old WMEX back in the late '70's. He produced the Red Sox games there.

Best wishes in his battle with cancer, and to Old Akronite and LA_Guy for your
responses. I think I know where Rocky River (C. Coleman's home) is; I was with a friend of mine from Akron and we drove through the area (and other parts of Cleveland
metro) just before attending a Tribe game.<P ID="signature">______________
