Casey & Rossi No Longer; Deminski and Doyle return?

What's next ?

Will they bring back "Jay and Hillary" or possibly "Roberta" ?

Actually, the Deminski and Doyle back to the future is an interesting turn of events.

It will be interesting to see if what worked well in the past can repeat that success now.

Going with what you know is a very safe move for management. This is not a time to take big chances on unknowns.

It was about time! Casey and Rossi had the worse show in the over twenty year history of the station. PD Eric Johnson should be commended for taking the action that was needed. Deminski and Doyle are the best team in radio and will bring the station up to the next level. A banner day for NJ radio.

Don't know about Casey, but maybe Ray Rossi will be headed for Randy Michaels' new FM news/talker in NYC. Ray Rossi has a history in NY, at WPLJ (where he was known as Bobby Valentine), later as a jock at WCBS-FM and traffic reports on WCBS-AM. :)

d & d are as bad, if not worse than c & rossi. At least rossi lives in Jersey.

Hopefully malloy and franko are next on the hit list.

101.5 - just have the news, traffic and weather from 10 am till 5 am.

Would save a bunch of money on talking heads and wanna be comedians...

EJ is an idiot for bringing back d & d

Do you personally know or are you related to Casey? Casey will never be able to shine Jeff and Bill's shoes. This is a good move by Eric Johnson. Jeff and Bill are great guys and will know how to get those languishing PPM numbers up in M/S/U.

If they were on the station previously how can they bring it up to the next level? Wouldn't it be bringing it back to whatever level they were at prior?

I actually enjoyed Casey and Rossi. Both are good at what they do but it appears the station is just going in a different direction.

Based on what I've heard of the pair (I never heard them on their first run at NJ1015) the subject matter covered will be different. It was described as non-political with a heavy reliance on news featured on the website Fark.com.

From what I hear they are talented guys and I will give them a chance (as in more than just one show) but if they are going to just regurgitate what I read from that site, then I am not sure how long I will tune in.

Does anyone know what happened ? Just realized today they are off the air when I hear Steve Trevalese(spllchk) .
I liked Casey and Rossi, as a team. Individually neither one of them could carry the show, but together It was good for what it was. Casey was a little over the top at times with the callers.
What direction is the station going to now ? I would be curious to know if anyone has some real info.

I'm a big fan of the Jersey Guys as well, I think their efforts in bring to light issues in NJ to the "silent majority". People might say I'm giving them too much credit but IMO they were instrumental in torpedoing Corzine's toll hike and for that matter getting Corzine out of office. And there discussions of late about the pension and benefits bill, made everyone see through the public union propaganda. Now this is just speculative on my part but it wouldn't surprise me at all to learn pro-state union people were behind their removal. They had the number #1 FM Talk show in the country and throngs of supporters.

Now originally Dominski and Doyle was suppose to be a non-political comedy based show based on topics / events in New Jersey.... However, after a sustained facebook and caller protest 101.5 they have changed their tune and posted this on their facebook page
‎"Deminski and Doyle" will talk everything Jersey including politics. They were responsible for getting the ball rolling on Megan’s Law, and called out many corrupt politicians. They also spearheaded the car insurance revolt during the Whitman administration. Their commitment and our commitment of talking about everyday life in Jersey will be stronger than ever. They start Tuesday July 5th.

So what direction are they going? Well the same exact direction....with hosts that haven't been in this state for almost 10years. Unless the new direction they were looking for was less listeners...in which case they may succeed.

Honestly, I have nothing against Deminski and Doyle, I remember them from when they were on in the 90's had the situation been different like if they couldn't come to an agreement with the Jersey Guys for a new contract or they were costing too much and the station asked them to take a pay cut but they refused and D&M were available for cheaper....I would understand, but the way they treated Casey and Rossi but just throwing them out like that without reason I won't be tuning in to that station for a long time. The whole line about not renewing their contract....ok technically true, but a bit misleading since their contract wasn't up until October.

NJ 101.5 fills a vacuum in New Jersey - the problem is that it is a forum for angry middle aged white people to piss and moan and bitch about the rotten kids they raised and the mess they have created by taking the "eff you got mine" mentality to the ballot box. I can't wait till the Baby Boomers and above die off - then maybe we'll have progress in this county instead of idiots bitching about THE GAYS, THE RIGHT TO LIIIIFE and "OH NOES NOT BIG GUBMENT." And the kids with the sexting and the OY MAYVEN...here's fast traffic.

If you think that the public employees of New Jersey and any unions had any hand in the ouster of Casey & Ray you are as naive as I was thinking that Obama was a liberal and wanted public health care (to my surprise, he didn't - I still do). Casey & Rossi didn't get the ratings & ad revenue that 101.5 needs in M-S-U, and I'm sure 101.5 is looking to cut the price of talent.

Was wondering who would be subbing in afternoon drive this week, as I wouldn't expect "the music come out to play" during the week... So on Monday, it was Steve Trevelise from WIP?
